Miss Georgia 1977 has a lot more to offer than her pearly-white
smile. Linda Kerr Kamm, Miss USAs
second runner-up 1978, (editor's note: Linda was a finalist in Miss USA not the
second runner-up as stated), always had ambitions far exceeding her pageant titles, but
growing a multi-million dollar business wasnt one of them. Six years ago, however, after representing a
frozen food manufacturer for several years, she decided to strike out on her own to create
an all natural frozen fruit bar that could be sold nationwide.
The result is Happy & Healthy Products, Inc. and the Fruitfull®
fruit bar. Kamms company will sell
nearly eight million fruit bars this year to universities, health clubs, hospitals and
grocery stores nationwide. Her bars, which
are hand made in 18 flavors, offer 100% natural ingredients and feature whole chunks of
real, sun-ripened fruit. And in recent
head-to-head taste test competitions, her bars have stung industry heavyweights like Dole
and Dreyers.

The fruit bar is now offered as a franchise that ranges from $24,000
to $50,000. There are currently 115
franchisees nationwide in 38 states and Puerto Rico.
According to Kamm, The product literally sells itself to both
consumers and to potential franchise owners. We
have marketed it simply by attending franchise shows and giving out samples. No one ever imagined selling fruit bars for a
living. But the people at the show taste our
bars, roam around for a bit and then end up back at our booth to talk about joining
company.
