A Happy Indulgence

What comprises the perfect franchise opportunity? Start with a low initial investment that average Americans can afford. Kamm wanted real fruit bars, the kind that explode with flavor, thanks to big chunks of summer ripened strawberries, bananas, raspberries, watermelons, cherries, limes, and coconut. Kamm spent two years perfecting her recipes and developing a customer friendly marketing program. She then began to franchise the business as a way for other entrepreneurs to live "Fruitfull" lives and get into business for a reasonable investment.

"The product literally sells itself to both customers and to potential franchise owners," says Kamm. "We have marketed the franchise opportunity simply by attending franchise shows and giving out free samples."

Half of Happy & Healthy’s franchisees operate the business part time, as supplementary income to a full time job or their lives as parents. The other half go at it full time. They primarily market their Fruitfull® bars through wholesale accounts, placing freezers in locations such as hospitals, colleges, universities, gourmet grocery stores, video stores, health clubs, drug stores, country clubs, beach locations, and wherever there’s someone who wants real fresh fruit frozen on a stick. The locations are established by Happy & Healthy and selected and maintained by franchisees. On the retail front, franchisees are encouraged to market directly to the public, appearing at festivals, sporting events and competitions, anywhere people gather to have a fun time.

Fruitfull® franchisees invest between $24,000 and $50,000, which includes an opening inventory, custom Fruitfull® freezers, a retail cart, full training, initial marketing materials and more
